For over 2 years, I’ve been looking into building my own tiny house. I know many people think I’m nuts, but seriously…with the student loans I owe, the unreliable economy, and the state of jobs in education…I really feel that this is not only a great way to live, but a beautiful way to live. I lived out of an RV for a few years back in the day, and after a short acclimation period I realized how happy I was in such an uncomplicated space. I’m excited to build a slightly larger, slightly nicer version of what I experienced then, all while trying to finish my MA in comp/rhet and linguistics at NCSU. No, I’ve never built anything before. Yes, I am freaked out. But the benefits outweigh the fears…and I like adventures. 🙂 So I bought the plans for the house below, and hope to have the shell finished by the end of 2014. I’m sure I’ll mess up, but as long as my mistakes don’t include major bodily injury, it won’t be anything I can’t fix.
Yessss, tiny house! On this trip of a thousand miles…I’ve made the first step!
